Address Change & Marital Status Update..

Hi…
I’m a permanent resident (green card holder) since Oct 2011, after reading several topics on the internet I have 2 questions which are really confusing me;

1 – My registered address with USCIS is my work address; I never changed it because I’m still working in the same place. I have changed my apartment twice since 2011 but never updated USCIS because I didn’t know that I have to update them. I prefer keeping my work address for any correspondences that I might receive from USCIS. Do I still have to update USCIS about my residential address or is it ok to keep my work address?
Note: I only updated my address with DMV.

2 – I recently got married to my boyfriend who is not a US Citizen or resident; do I have to update USCIS about my marital status?

I hope I didn’t violate any law because of my lack of knowledge ... :(
I appreciate your answer…

Thanks

Yes. You're supposed to file AR-11 to notify them of where you actually live, not just a mailing address.

No, unless you're involved in an immigration process like sponsoring your child to immigrate or applying for citizenship.

Thanks Jack!
So I am very late to update them, I hope there’s not going to be any penalties…
I’ll fill out the required form & explain my reason…. I hope everything goes well.
Thanks again.

Don't explain anything to them. Just send in the AR-11 to report your current residential address.

I have just changed my address online through USCIS website, and printed a copy of my electronic AR-11 for my records…
It was really easy, I wish I knew this back in 2011……..
Thanks Jack :)
