Address change and N-400

I moved to another city a few days BEFORE I filed N-400. On the N-400 I used my new address as "current home/mailing address". I need to notify CIS about this address change. Shall I use form AR-11 or call the 800 number?

Also, AR-11 asks about "port of entry into U.S.". Should it be the port-of-entry when I entered U.S. for the first time, or the port-of-entry of my last trip? These two are different in my case.

Thanks for your response.

You were supposed to have lived at a new addess if it was in another district office for 90 days before sending a N-400. Or you could have filed N-400 and then changed an address. Where did you move from and where to?

The city I moved to is in the same district and same state as my old place. So I met the "90-day residence in a district or state" requirement when I filed N400.

Could you answer my original question that should I use AR-11 or call the CIS customer center to report the address change? And what should I write in the "port of entry into U.S." question on AR-11?

Based on what people have said on this issue in the past, as a green card holder you always have to file AR-11 to report a change of address. But thay alone does NOT update the address on your pending N-400 application. So you should do both.

Port of entry is an airport or entry point where you first entered US, either as Immigrant or non-immigrant. If you entered as non-immigrant and then adjusted your status as permanent resident, then you may want to add the City name where you adjusted your status as the permanent resident.
