Guys, Please find my Details in my signature below...I am thinking of changing the apartment 2 blocks away from my current appt... What do you guys suggest?
Is it advisable to change at this time?
If so, what will be the process? like notifying INS.
Does INS issue RFE in the future based on change of address?
Thx,

Change address

There is no rule saying that you cannot change adddress.

Make sure you completed the AR-11 form, and must also call INS to update your address.

I sent away my AR-11 form in Dec/02, and just rang INS in Feb/03 to update my address.

Changing address happens all the time. I personally moved recently and submitted the relevant form to the INS. My lawyer also contacted them to make sure that updated my address. There is no pb in doing that while an AOS is pending. Also make sure to send the form in certified mail so that you get a notification once the INS receives it.

do you know the phone # to call the address change

do you know the phone # to call the address change?

i would wait for EAD

I am not sure if the post office will forward the EAD (when ever it comes) to the new address. I would wait till i get the actual EAD before moving - assuming you do not have anyhing else like AP (other than 485) pending.
I moved from CA to AZ last year and the post office returned the FP notices back to INS. I used my lawyer's courtesy copy to get FP done.
The post office promptly forwarded IRS tax notice to the new address - asking me to pay tax again - I had already paid all taxes before moving.

Read my Messgae "Another 02-049 approved"

kingno1 : Maybe you should do that to get your GC

Thk you all for your input....

I spoke with my attorney and he said that it is no big deal. As some one was suggesting, I can send AR-11 form and can call INS later after a month to update my address.

Ajay, that was funny abt getting approved if we move around. Personally, I believe in that theory as it happened to me, kind of similar thing.
My 140 was RFEd in Nov'02 and I didnt get any response until Jan 03. I was very nervous. I went to Local INS and got my iEAD and the very next week, I got my 140 approved, and AP the very next day. Som, its worth trying just to beat the bush..:D
One more question, I havent received my EAD yet. Does it come to our address or to attorney?
I will be moving in a month, so, I am hoping that I will get my EAD in a month.
