Hi y'all, i have a couple of questions:
I am planing on going to Europe next December, but I don't have an I-94 with asylum status. I have my very first one which was given to me when i came to the States with B1 visa. will that cause any problem when leaving the country?
I am also moving to different address (same town) at around November, and that's probably the time the USCIS will contact me about my I-485 (wether approval or RFE). can i change address to P.O box?will the USCIS deliver to P.O box?

thanks a lot

why would you change to P.O. Box? Go to post office and fill out the address change form and put the effective date. Post office will deliver your mail to the new address starting on the date you specify. Of course, don't forget AR-11 (USCIS change address form).

I-94 ... I'm not sure. Last time they did not take my old one. Don't know why ... You will a get new one anyway when you come back.

Cider-or,
I-94 if I were you I wouldn't give it back at the airport, because you might needed for your RFE or Approval. the airline people ask if your a visitor or resident, and you are a resident (not PR), but the don't take it if you don't offer it???

Disagree! Don't trust the post office!

they (post office) have royally screwed up delivering my roommates' and my own mail when moving, despite that form. I really would not count on that. You could give an attorney's address but best AR-11 (or whatever it is called for INS) and then subscribe to e-mail notification on the USCIS web site (cases tatus online) section - it is such a blessing!

I know how you feel, I have not moved in 4 years mostly for this reaosn.

Thanks guys, well the reason why I didn't want to do the mail forwarding is because when I moved in 99, i filed out the form but never received my notice of action for my I-485, USCIS only issue one (no duplicate).
siddig, if the airline ask me about I-94, can i tell them i don't have one? will they cause me any troubles?
EspressoJoy , yeah that email notification is good thing, i forgot about, i already subscribed to it anf through it i will be able to expect the mail.

thanks

the airlines don't know better that you, that is from my own experience, to them if you are a resident in any form, then that all they know, in other words as long as you are not on a visit visa, and you don't have to check with INS office at the airport, then you are good to go,
besides when you show them your RTD, then that is it, I guess....

I agree with "siddig". Your RTD will serve as a proof of your status or residency in the USA. Airlines will ask you for I-94 if you are a visitor.
