Additional work in H1

Hello Rajiv sir...

I have been working with a company on H-1B visa, which came into effect from Oct 2008. I had a question about doing additional work/business alongside working for my employer. My cousin in India wants to do an online business which would be registered in my name here in US.
Could you please tell me if this is allowed? My status being H1B, am I allowed to have such a thing in my name?

You may only work for entity sponsoring your H1B. You may own a business but not work for it.

What your cousin proposes places you - not him - at risk. If you choose to proceed with the idea, see a lawyer.
