Adding spouse to Principle applicant's I-485 application

Hi Guys,

If I apply for I-485 when I am single, after marriage once my wife will be here in US, and Lets say dates are retrogressed, Should I have to wait for PD to be current in order to add my wife's name to my 485 application?

Adding Wife's name to principle applicant's I-485 is equivalent to applying for a separate I-485 application?

What is the exact procedure? Please explain...

I am in a similar situation and I spoke to an attoryny on monday. He confirmed that one has to wait until the PD becomes current to add spouse...
 
Here is what I got by reading this forum:

Keep your H-1B status after filing I-485. In that case at least you can get your spouses in the country through H-4. File I-485 for dependants, once the PD is current and your I-485 receipt notice was issued. This is a racing condition - your I-485 should not be approved before you file for dependants.

There maybe other solutions as well ...
