I have some questions regarding, adding spouse to GC process and Chennai Consulate H4 visa. Hope you guys can help me in this case. Let me explain my situation. Here are my GC processing times (filed in VSC):
Filed I-140 & 485 11/27/02
Notice Date 01/02/03
Finger Prints Notice 02/07/03
I-140 Approval 02/26/03
EAD Approval 02/27/03
AP Approval 02/27/03
Recently I got married and planning to add my wife on my Green Card process. I thought August month is okay to add. But my wife hasn’t gets the dependent visa approval, because of the back logs in Chennai Consulate. We dropped her H4 visa application on June 23rd and didn't get any response yet. Chennai Consulate is approving some cases in a week or two. For some cases they are asking so many documents to show their proof of status, jobs etc...I don't know how many days they are going to take for my wife's approval. It’s already 6th week.
What I want to know is,
1) Can I proceed through an attorney to make the process fast on my wife’s H4 visa, if I won’t get any response after this week too? If yes, is it impact any of my wife’s visa approval decision.
2) Is there any way, the Chennai consulate inquires about my GC process? I don’t think they will issue my wife’s visa, if they know about my GC process.
Note: My first H1 is going to expire on July 31st, 2003. I have another approval (up to 03/2005), but not stamped in the passport.
3) Rajiv told me that I can add my wife in my GC process before I got the approval notice. I don't think that is going to happen this year. But, I want to know your opinion. I will really appreciate, if you guys tell me approximate date/month, according to new approval dates.
