Adding Money to Bank Account - Advice

Hi All - what are people's thoughts on adding money from family to your bank account to increase the amount in the account? My husband and I have $28,000 in savings and can get a short term loan to add more in to increase the balance. The concern is that it will look suspicious to have a large amount (or even small amount) going into the account on the statement.

First of all, what's the reason of doing this..? Why would you need a loan for no reason. If you need for immigration reasons, you have enough to show.
