Adding information to your File withou RFE?

I recently found out that the Coutry of Residence for my Mother was specified incorrect when I filed my I-485 last July, Can this be corrected
by sending the correct information. My lawyer was saying that we have to wait for the RFE but I dont believe.
Any comments?
