Added spouse after filing I485

Hello Folks,
I've added my spouse to my I485 application and following are the details:

My details
------------
ND - Aug 31 2001
RD - Sep 25 2001 WAC-01-293-xxxx
PD - Dec 2000
FP done (after rescheduling once) - June 18 2002
AVM is not yet updated (FBI sent the FP same day to INS)

My spouse's detail
------------------------
ND - July 1 2002
RD - July 3 2002

Does my application will be processed only after my spouse's date becomes current?
Is it OK to speak to an IIO or should I wait for my wife's FP?

Does that mean my case will be processed before her case? My lawyer told me that they sent a letter to INS reqeusting them to process the cases together. I don't know which date they will be picking up.
 
Were you able to find out any more about how INS is going to process yours and your spouse's case? Is yours going to be slowed down or is your spouse's going to be speeded up?
 
Well, I asked this question to my lawyer and he said that my case will be processed first because I'm the principle applicant. I seriously doubt if any IIO can provide me any information regarding this. With INS I don't expect things to go straight!
 
Mostly both application will be processed seperately.
Depending on their RD dates.

I don't know what your lawyer meant by requesting INS to process both cases together.

I have friend who was in similar situation and he has got his GC and now waiting for his spouse.

This information is not correct. If you are filing for your spouse after you filed your I485, you can include the request of concurrent processing with his / her I485 application (Whether INS gonna care for this is a different issue :-) ). You can send follow ups to INS during the processing. According to Murthy.com, INS holds the family cases together.
 
Thanks for the info! My lawyer says the spouse I485 WILL be matched up with the primary I485 and subsequently the primary I485 will experience a delay until the spouse case has completed fingerprints, IBIS clearances, etc. In any case, we can just pray and hope for the best. :)
 
How this IBIS clearance works? After FP, INS does the IBIS or after the officer picks up the case the IBIS is done? My wife done her FP on July 31st. I don't know how long INS will take to do the IBIS and other checks. Time will tell!
