Add wife to I-485 if she's not in the US?

Quick question:

Can I add my wife to my pending I-485 application if she's NOT HERE in the US?

Or do I really have to wait until my GC gets approved before I could file a "follow-to-join" on her?

We got married last month while my I-485 is still pending (it is still pending up to now).

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can. File the I824

But it seems really slow though. I824 was filed on Sept 06 still no answer.

Good Luck

Uhm, I-824 is used to request action on a previously approved petition right?

So that means, my I-485 should be already in the approved status before I could file an I-824? But my I-485 is still pending

Same situation

I am in the same situation. My pd is april 2003 row eb3 and i am married ,but no visa stamp .I was on f1 which has expired so now i cannot bring my wife to the US . I got married when i travelled on advaced parole. Now i am stuck as my wife is not here. I cannot file for her before i get my GC. I can do follow to join only after i get my 485 approved. and then file 824 to initiate Ftj

I guess we have no choice but to wait. :( From your knowledge, how long does it usually take for the whole I-824 FTJ process gets approved?
