Add a husband to a I-485

My situation is the following. Soon I will file an I-485 on the grounds of an unmarried child over 21 of a US citizen. I will have an alien number and everything else. However, I plan to marry around this time as well. Will this cancel my I-485 and will they take away my alien number since now I will be a married child of a US citizen, which puts me in a lower category? If not, will I be able to put my husband on the I-485 so that he adjusts status with me (from F1 to GC)? Please, let me know. I'll greatly appreciate. Thanks.

Check this part of the family preferences:
http://uscis.gov/graphics/services/residency/family.htm
right now you are in the first preference, if you got married you will be in the third preference.

Plus: from http://uscis.gov/graphics/howdoi/childproc.htm (including spouses)
Beneficiaries Who Wish to Bring Children
How do I bring my children to the U.S. if I am the beneficiary of the petition? If your U.S. citizen parent, brother or sister is petitioning for you on Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, and you are married, your spouse and/or children do not require a separate visa petition. If you are unmarried and 21 years of age or older, your children do not require a separate visa petition. In both cases, your spouse and/or children will be included in the visa petition your immediate relative is filing for you.

good luck,

Thanks, Cherr1980. I'm sorry but I'm still not clear. So if I have an alien number from being in 1st Preference and I get married, will they take away my current alien number and will I have to wait for a new one being in the 3rd Prefrence. This matters because my Priority date is March, 2001 and I am entitled to an alien number if I'm in the 1st Preference but not if I'm in the 3rd. Thanks.
