Activation trip advice

Hey guys

I need some advice with regards to performing an activation trip
I have 1 year left on my company bond but the dv visa will expire in 6 months, assuming i get it

My plan is as follows: pls advice if i left anything out

1)I intend to fly over to USA sometime in August and than fly back on the same day
I will allocate ~6hours between the flights in case of long airport waiting times. Does it matter if i enter the POE during off peak periods?(e.g 5am) or must it be during working hours?
After entering the POE, this will act as a 1 year temp gc?Aug2015-Aug2016?

2)I am required to sign up for selective service upon entering USA, from what i google, this seems to be doable online. Will this be a problem?

3)I also intend to delay the receipt of my GC. This can be done by not paying the GC fee correct? is there a way to also delay the receipt of the SSN? I dont think i want to unlock my ds260 at this pt of time just to untick the SSN delivery box

It's unusual to fly in and out the same day but technically it can be done.
Obviously it will look suspicious so do expect some questioning about your itinerary. If you are flying on a long journey without any baggage (as I presume will be the case if you are in and out) that will equally look suspicious, expect questions at the airport.

There will be CBP officers there to meet every flight so don't worry about what time it lands.
I am not aware of any way to delay the SSN card being sent.
You will want to ensure you are back in the U.S. with plenty of time you get your plastic green card allowing for potential problems when you return. (It took me four months and congressperson intervention to get mine, for example.)
