I am currently on an F1 and enrolled in school in a graduate program. I already have an MS from another univ in the US. I wish to leave the program to work in a company that will be filing for my H1 with an immediate start date as I am not eligible for OPT.
According to my employer's lawyer, I can start working for them as soon as the acknowledgement notice comes through (before the actual H1 approval). Is this right? I was under the impression that I have to wait for the H1 approval to come through as this is the first time I will be on an H1.
