AC21 & similar job question

I'm about to file my AC21 hoping that would trigger my case will be assigned to case handlers at NSC. Here are my details of I-485:

I-140 Programmer(EB2)
I-485 03/2002

04/2003, switched job but didn't notify INS about the job change.

I just got job offer from another company and planning to start with new company soon. The job title at new company is Senior Software Engineer.

My questions with folks are:
1. Are both jobs in the same or similar type? (I think its similar but its upto INS, so appreciate input how INS might take this as)
2. Will filing AC21 help triggering my case?

I still have the same lawyer and not planning to change even though I think he's not good. I havn't talked to him about filing AC21. I wanted to read the responses from this forum and talk to him after that.
