Will it be a problem if I change jobs (under AC21) with an increase in salary by 54%? The big increase is because I'm moving from south (TX) to the bay area (CA).

Well, if you get an RFE, you can also give additional arument of waiting for past 4 years. No one is expected to be at the same salary level. With an average 6 to 9 % increase can get you to this level and the remaining can be argued with difference in location basis

First of all, good for you man :)

I don't think you have anything to worry about as long as your job profile remains similar. You should be covered considering the cost of living index change due to geographic relocation.

Thanks guys....I think I'll take the risk...it is just not worth passing away all our chances esp when we don't have a clue abt when this process is going to end.

I have already changed jobs once (under AC21) but not with a significant change in salary.

Key thing is Job profile, make sure your offer letter includes the same description as your labor approval.

One of my friend had a same issue, he was questioned about his huge rise in the salary and they mentioned that its not the same job. So he has to prove that its the same job (which he did) and raise in salary was due to job location (NY, though he never changed his residence in NJ) and it also requires additional travel. His case was approved with AC21 inspite of employer revoked 140.

In the AC21 letter you might want to address their doubts up front by mentioning that the new job is in an area where salaries and the cost of living are much higher than average.
