Posting under its own thread - thought it might be useful to others.
My journey so far:
1. filed 485, ead, ap with company 1 (address in CSC jurisdiction)
2. switched to company 2 in NSC jurisdiction on my EAD after 1.5 years of 485 filing
3. called CSC to get my address changed
4. Send AC21 document with change of lawyer information to CSC
5. called CSC to verify my address change. No change in lawyer/employer information
6. Faxed the "change in lawyer" with AC21 documents (employer information and my current job description) information to CSC. Get a call from CSC saying that they can not respect the fax for change in lawyer
7. applied for EAD and AP renewal at CSC. Also send AC21 documents.
(a) complete packet returned saying that I should send it to NSC
(b) application resent highlighting the fact that my 485 is pending in CSC. This time two packets - one for AP and EAD, another for AC21 as advised by IIO
(c) EAD and AP application returned saying my 485 receipt is not present (i never received 485 receipt, and had sent cancelled check)
(d) application resent highlighting the cancelled check in red
(e) EAD and AP receipt received
8. Called csc to check if the lawyer/employer information was updated. Was informed that it will take 3-4 months before a regular mail is processed. Requested IIO to mail me a special enevelope to expediate the process.
9. Recevied the special envelope (had some hand-written cryptic code in the to field) and mailed AC21 documents (4th time) with change in lawyer information (some G form)
10. called BCIS to verify that they have my current employer, lawyer and address
11. my ead is expiring and no chance of receving the new ead
12. File for premium H1-b. I also go to local bcis to get my iEAD. H1-B so that my option of getting married to someone in my home country opens up
13. still reluctant to get married in my home country. what if my 485 is approved just before my marraige
14. My first FP expires. i decide on my marraige.
15. marraige fixed and i get 2nd fp notice before my departure
16. send a mail requesting ASC-SF to postpone my FP (even though everything on my file points to NSC, i was asked to get myself fingerprinted in SF)
17. Bring my wife on h4
18. Still no notice for my rescheduled FP
19. Go to local ASC and get myself FP on old notice (the one that i postponed - take lawyer's copy, i had to mail my original with the postponement request)
20. website updated to reflect FP done (processing resumed)
21. receive new notice for my 2nd FP - this time asking me to appear at local ASC
22. reply to SF ASC stating that I got myself FP at local ASC on my old notice and the website has been updated
23. Apply for my wife's 485 to CSC (highlighting my cancelled check instead of my 485 receipt and that my application is pending with them even though my address comes under NSC jurisdiction)
24. My 485 aproved without a RFE (approval date is one day after the notice date for my wife's 485, ead and ap
25 Now waiting for my wife's EAD, AP and 485 approval. wish me good luck
