AC21 Eligible??

Got an interview for 485 application in Future employment letter
Got verbal approval and officer said letter will be mailed after one final review. For some reason its taking too long to get the approval letter.
Now, Technically am i eligible to use AC21?
Only thing is in the interview i told the officer that i will work for the company that sponsered my gc, soon after my greencard is approved(and only after its approved, my intention is to work for that company)

can anyone help? anyone in this situation before??

There is no clause in AC21 for job change after approval.

so if i get a RFE will i be in trouble for not working for sponsoring employer?
because i thought 485 is only approved when i get the approval letter in mail( which i didnt yet)

No. Per AC21, you can work for any employer before approval if the job is similar. Respond to RFE with an employment letter from the employer you are currently working for. If you are planing to change jobs, it is advisable you do it before approval rather than immidiately after.
 
am in same boat

i attended interview on jan 20(St.louis office) no response so far i got the verbal approval from officer no approval letter so far even upon interview he took our indesx finger print and signature for card

am not sure what am suppose to do now
can you tell me detail about your interview (like when and where)

You can definitely change job after 485 approval.
But since you will not be working for your GC sponsor, your GC application becomes "false representation", in other words, fraud. If INS somehow decides to come back to follow up on your case, they can use this argument to revoke your GC. This is absolutely legal and has happened before, although rare.
So just be careful. In the grand scheme of things, what's a few months anyway?
