Hi folks,

I wanted to start a thread that tracks N-400 applicants who got their Green Card through AC21, who DID NOT send in any documentation for AC21 or who had some other AC21 related issue (Like being laid off before I485 was adjudicated and not working on the day it was approved).

This is to help everyone who is in the same situation to know if any additional documentation was requested during the course of the N400 or during the interview, and also keep a track of what are the possible questions asked by the IO.

Here are my own details:

May 9, 2001: I485 Receive date by the INS.
December 31, 2001: Got layed-off.
January 23, 2002: I485 approved.
March 13, 2002: New employer made me an offer.
April 22, 2002: Started working for my new employer.

N400 applications sent: July 20, 2007.
N400 applications received (by TSC): July 23, 2007.

I have also added a poll that tracks how many current N400 applicants have availed of the AC21 for their Green Cards.

I will update the above data as my case progresses....

I got laid off some 210 days from I-485 receipt date and found the new employer with the same exact job description the next working day. However, I never notified INS about this as my attorney didn't think it was necessary and would in fact delay my approval. But I have all the letters with me, like lay off notice stating permanent reduction in workforce, offer letter from new company that described the job and position, and all the salary slips, etc.

Here are my N400 details:
DO: San Jose
Application receipt date: ~04/13/2007
FP scheduled and Done: ~06/15/2007
Interview date: ??
Oath: ??

Hope no uncomfortable questions come up during the interview. However, I am prepared to answer any questions truthfully as I don't believe I have committed any fraud in obtaining GC. We'll see what happens. Would be happy to hear from others in same/similar situation.

fabolous & all folks,

Could you please post your local office & service center info?

obajaj, were you part of R2I forum as well? Your ID seems familiar....Are you in semiconductor/ chip design area?

^^ bumping up to keep the thread active ^^^

I have seen posts from a bunch of guys on AC21 ( koolvik ec etc) , I am sure they would want to chip in...

Obajaj,

This is a very good poll and this will be very good data to have.

I'm wondering if modifying the poll will yield more specific results. Here's what comes to my mind:

Question: AC21 was/is applicable to me. My I-485 was approved and:
Option #1: I sent AC21 documents to USCIS as a response to an RFE.
Option #2: I sent AC21 documents to USCIS on my own accord.
Option #3: My I-485 was approved without an RFE & I did not send any documents to the USCIS.

immigrateful,

Yes, I think that would be a useful poll. In addition to the poll regarding sendind the paperwork, another poll that would be useful would be:

Question: AC21 was/is applicable to me. My I-485 was approved but I was laid off and:
1) I had an offer letter with a new company BEFORE my I-485 was approved.
2) I had an offer letter with a new company AFTER my I-485 was approved.

2) implies that a person was not working on the day the I485 was adjudicated.

I will create a thread with these 2 polls later on....

Thanks.
