AC21 case approved

Hi.

Just want to share my story, since I didn't find a scenario same as my case online. And figure this may help someone.

I am an RIR case initiated back in early 2001, and 485/140 was filed concurrently Dec, 2004. I140 was approved May 2005. The position was for a design engineer position. My responsibility at work also increased to include management roles after I140 was approved.

This year, due to my employers changes, I decided to take a risk and take a management job in another company since I didn't know how long my name check was going to take. My file was transferred to local office for interview (not sure why). The interview was set up 3 weeks after I started at a new job. The job was in the same field, but more responsibility.

At the interview, my case was approved. It was just to check my name/dob and other facts. I present my letter stating the job was similar, and the new employment verificaiton letter. The officer just read the letter, and moved on to approve the application (after taking the letters and putting in the file).

So basically my interview was a quality control case, and the officer was surprised it was an employment based case.

Hopefully this will help ease the fears of some of the people who read this.

Thanks for sharing your experience.
May I ask whether your former employer revoked 140?

No they didn't withdraw 140. Even if they wanted to, my 140 was already approved for over a year, and I left within a month of my interview.

may I ask which country do you belong to, is your PD is current

China, EB2. PD was current. My fingerprint had expired, so 3 weeks before the interview, there was a FP appointment also. I think the officer checked the visa number during the interview.

Did you wait for the fingerprint notice?

Hi lp000,
Congratulations.
Thanks for sharing this info. I am wondering if you have the same experience of the finger-print? - I sent an inquiring email to CSC, the email replied back to me is:
"The I-485 fingerprints have expired. You will be mailed a fingerprint
appointment when the ASC in your area has appointments available. Once the fingerprints clear, the files will be processed."

Did you see the message in your waiting? Do they not send out FP notice immediatly after FP expire but wait for a while to do so?

Thanks

NCFolk

I found out my name check was done through an email. And there was an update online in my file, with no text change. Then CSC send me a quick additional email saying my case is been transferred to local office, and then my text changed also to reflect that. I didn't get my finger print re-done until the local office set up the interview.
