AC21 Case Approved from L1A status

Some more hope for those of you out there applying the AC21 provision from L1A visa status. When I originally changed jobs most threads and information I read said L1 could apply for portability then more recently I read reports, which were less convincing. Lawyers advised me not to change jobs but thought I would try it anyway as I wasn’t going to willingly stay where I was for an unknown period of time. Good news though as finally I got my approval.

I actually applied for all my EAD’s and AP’s without the use of a lawyer during this time thanks mainly to the help of this site. As seems to be the way I had just applied and paid for my 3rd round of EAD’s and AP when approval came through. Was tempted to respond to RFE as well on my own but decided that I had waited too long to muck anything up so coughed up $750 for a pretty basic letter from my attorney. Job titles were totally different although I was able to keep Manager in the title somewhere for both. Job duties were fairly similar, but salary for second job was considerably higher.

Here are the details

WAC-02-070-5xxxx

I know it doesn’t make you feel any better if you are still sitting in limbo but boy did it feel good to have the process end!

Congrats.
What kind of a job you changed to. Do you work for a domestic company now or a foreign company. Want to undersatnd how does BCIS interpret similar job for L1A.

Sorry posted this and promptly forgot to check again! Don't know if it is too late but I went from a pure Manager role to a Consulting role but still managing a team. Industry was different but core practice area was the same. First company was foreign company with US subsidiary and my current company is US but with international subsidiaries.

I really played up the management responsibilities, as were the same for both. I admit it felt touch and go at times, not sure I’d recommend but in my case, thankfully it worked out.
