AC140 for Mumbai

Gurus,

Need Help! I called my Attorney today to discuss AOS to CP conversion. She told me I824 needs to be approved before I Mumbai consulate gives interview date. She said Mumbai consulate no more accepts AC140 and receipt of I824 for interview scheduling.

I shocked to learn this. Do you know if this is true?

Please help.

My case was accepted in the begining of Oct.
The FAQ on Mumbai cosulate web site
still says they are accepting AC140 cases
with I-824 fee reciept:

Do you know if they accept EB3 case. I have MS degree but my position was adverised for BS degree.

I do not have any direct knowledge but the link I have mentioned above says :

"We are accepting E3 cases that meet the above conditions on a more limited basis, where it is clear that the applicant is highly skilled. We would accord precedence to applicants who have already received H1-b visas in the same profession or for the same employer."


Since you do have an MS you may fit thier definition of "highly skilled", and if you have
an H1-b that also seems to help.

You could wirite to them at "mumbaiiv@state.gov" with your case details and ask if they will accept. Just a suggestion..
