Hi,

This is my current situation:
* I-485 filed in Nov 2001.
- I am past finger printing and the online case status says
that the results of FP have come and processing has resumed.

* EAD is valid till Feb 25, 2003.

* H1-B expired in Aug, 2002, Didnt extend it since I thought ill get my GC by now! :((

* I'm laid off now!

Now I believe the AC-21 rule applies to :
1. People on H1-B
2. AOS pending applicants

I guess im in the second category right? What all do I HAVE to be worried about and what all I dont have to be worried about. Can someone please help on this? I have already filed for EAD and AP extension a on Nov 25, 2002.

What are my rights? What are the caveats? I dont want to panic but seems like Im in a royal soup now. I thought getting laid off was the tough part.. now that seems like a walk in the park compared with getting through the INS quagmire.

Thanks,
Rajesh.

use your EAD to get new job.
you can use AC21 to get your green card approved.
your new job should be similar to what you were doing in your previous job.
