AC 140 - Chennai Consulate

My I-140 is approved and I mentioned AOS in my 140 application. But I would like to change to CP at Chennai consulate.

I talked to chennai consulate whether they process attorney certified (AC140) and they said it is a case to case basis.

Here are my questions.

1. Has anybody tried AC 140 in Chennai consulate?
2. There is a difference of $14k in my salary and what is mentioned in LC. Will it pose any problem?
3. How do I prove my hardship

Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.

Generally speaking...

Chennai does not accept AC140. They keep saying that they will accept cases on an individual basis-but we have not heard of anybody getting in by that route atleast in the last 1-2 years. While there is no harm in trying, don't raise your hopes. As to the hardship-you have to come up with a reason based on your situation. there is no standard hardship that would sway Chennai! Thanks! You are right. I have been searching web for any such cases and didn't find one.

So I think I would not take risk.
