Ac-140 Cases No Longer Accepted At Nwd

Guys, this is real bad news. My AC-140 packet reached NWD on 27 Sept and they misplaced it. I sent another packet to my folks in Delhi which they have received. I have asked them to courier it to the NWD Embassy anyways on Oct 23rd. My folks back in Delhi contacted them regarding the receipt of the previous packet and the (Indian) guy who received the call said they are no longer accepting AC-140 cases, and that all cases relating to Consular Processing MUST reach them ONLY VIA NVC. He said they used to take such cases earlier which came from applicants or their attorneys but they have received instructions from NVC to only accept cases that come through them, which effectively rules out any AC-140 cases.
Does any of you have any information regarding this? Since the NVC is still processing I-824 for Feb 2002 and mine was filed in July 2002, I am thinking of abandoning the CP itself and revert back to I-485 / AOS. Do you guys have any suggestions? I have about a year left on my H1 and I think my company will survive only till the end of quarter2 (June 2003). What do you think are my options?
I will appreciate your suggestions in my precarious situation.

i am really sorry to hear that because of Delhi's mistake u are missing out on CP !!!


I think u have a good chance of explaining them ur situation ... arelative could possibly go and do that too .... send them the fedex delivery confirmation and probably they can let u do a AC-140 ....

This new policy of not accepting AC-140 is very unfortunate and may also be applicable to Bombay now !
