about using AP

Dear all,
I am sorry for one more question: if my I140 and I485 are pending, can I hold my H1B after using AP to go back to my country and return to US?????
I heard about that immigration office has a NEW policy that one can use AP to leave and return to US but keeping the original H1b status??

So confused!

If you have a valid H1B stamp on your passport and still working for the same employer, you can use that for travel.
