hi all i have a question about us citizenship......i have a green card and i am eligible to apply for citizenship this september ....but i have taken a job in india and have to go next month ..i am not sure if i can come in september and apply for it .and after i apply do i have to live in us while the citizenship is in process.(heard it takes 6 months)i am so close to obtaining a citizenship but have to leave the country for the job.is there a way i apply for it and still not live here.please help.

No. You need to live in the US during the entire process (but it is acceptable to take short trips abroad), unless that job is for a US corporation or government agency and you can get an approved N-470. Taking that job is risking not only denial of this citizenship application, but also may make you ineligible for the next 4 or 5 years.

Added to the risk of abandoning the Green Card as well...
