about unemployment payment

Hi,
Sorry to side track here. Does anyone know about eligibility for getting unemployment payment. Is it necessary to have a GC if one is to get paid unemployment payment. Or is EAD/H-1 good enough. Any non-GC holder here who got laid off and collecting unemployment. Thanks

you can only collect unemployment benefits if you are already a gc holder... but i heard from someone that if you already have an A#, then u are eligible.... i may be wrong though
