About security check

Hi,

I have a question about the security check.

I'm the primary applicant and my case was approved last Oct. But my husband's case is still spending (we submitted the applications at the same time). He did his second fingerprint this August. Then we didn't hear anyting from that. He call the Texas service center to report the case is separated. Today we got an email with the following message:

The status of this service request is:

We are currently awaiting the results of required security checks on
this case. These background checks are required of all who apply for the
immigration benefit you are seeking. We will make every effort to make
a decision on this case as soon as the security checks are complete.
If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us
within 6 months of this letter, please contact us by calling our customer
service number provided below.

Does anyone know how can we check if his security check is done or not? And how to speed up the security check process?
