I am considering to file NIW. Someone told me that the NIW is very hard to get approval now. Is this true?

I am a post-doctoral associate and have about 20 journal papers. My research work is in bio-analytical chemistry. I could get 7-8 letters from top universities, companies.

Any comments are welcome

The NIW has become significantly more difficult in the last several years. However, it can be done. It's like any other GC or visa, in some cases there is no problem at all. It all depends on the case. Based on the little information available in your post you seem to have a chance.

Hello Jim,
I want to know what is more appropriate for me, EB1-EA or NIW.
I have 22 publications in top journals, 24 journal citations and 4 newspaper/magazine news cuttings about me and my work, membership in 4 scientific societies(two of which required high qualifications), one young leader award of an international scientific society, evidences of three scholarships in India. evidence of reviewing 4-5 papers and a letter from the editor of an international journal about my appointment as a journal referee. I can get 10 letters (4 from abroad and 6 from USA).
Thanks

It's difficult to say much for certain but I think I would favor the EB-1EA for you. It looks to me that you qualify so I would go that route.

Hi Jim and experts,

I have recently started a post-doc at a major national lab, working on a DOE funded project on electron microscopy. I have a PhD (7 journal papers + 5 conf papers + 8 citations + 2 reviewerships) and 2.5 years semiconductor industry experience (3 patents).

Would it be easier to get NIW by using the name and letters from a national lab. Or am I better suited for EB1-EA.

Thanks
