About EAD mistake: I have not sent

anything to NSC yet. I called again and the clueless IIO says to send that back. No time frame given. If I choose to go to local and explain, do they give just interim (3 mo) EADs or longer ones? Does the local office work on longer EADs?

Interim EAD

I had problem when I received my 1st EAD. My first name was spelled wrong. I called the NSC immediately, they suggested me to send the EAD along with request letter explaining the changes and proof of the Name (Copy of birth ceritificate) to change it. Also they suggested to go to the Local Office to get the Interim EAD by showing the original EAD.

But I didn't send the EAD for name change, Did the changes while renewed my EAD very next year (sent the letters and birth certificate as proof) and when I received it was corrected.

I would suggest you to go the local office and get the interim EAD and send your original for correction. (If your lucky and the local office is willing to do it and it becomes simple).

Sorry to know that you have to go through this paid without mistake of yours.

I have been pondering about this for the last couple of days.
I still have close to 3 months on the old EDA, so I chose to throw another 120 dollars and sent another application yesterday without mentioning old application. I will also send a request for correction without the actual card (because you don't want to lose the wrong card also) but with a photocopy. They need a proof that they made this mistake. I didn't have old application's photocopy saved. So whatever weapons you have, or you try to prove, I felt it is going to be useless dealing with NSC's mistake and more likely it will go into a sink hole. Local INS is purely a chance, so I thought, will deal with them if none of the cards shows up.
