Hi I have a question for those who have received the visa.Visa is issued on the date of interview or a few days later. Is there any possibility to postpone the date of issueance a few days later. Our interview is on April17 and in mid-October we have an issue to resolve and it would be great finish it before we leave.

No one knows when exactly your particular visa will be issued ( what issue date it will have) as it might be a few days after the interview or it could be longer if your application went through administrative processing (no one can tell you how long this takes either).

But what we all know is that the DV visa is valid for 6 months from date of issuance. Therefore if you really wanted to stay and get your October issue taken care of and then leave to the sates in late October. then I would suggest to you to contact the embassy or consulate which your interview is scheduled at and ask them to postpone the interview until mid may(you can say that you will be away and cant make it on that date) ..in this way if you go for the interview in mid may and lets say your visa got issued around that time then your visa will be valid for 6 months (until mid november).

Our visa has an issue date of the interview date. We didn't have any 'under administration processing' issue. The date is 20th February, and it is valid until 19th August. In the embassy in Hungary, we were told before the interview, that if we want they can postpone the issuance of the visa (by how much time, it was not specified), if we want to, but we didn't take this option.
As as 44xxx said, you can request to postpone your interview date, which will push back your 6 month window for traveling. I did have to postpone our interview as well, just had to call the embassy, and they were quite flexible about it, they asked when we can go. This was the embassy in Hungary, which doesn't seem like a high traffic embassy from DV point of view, so your milage may vary on the flexibility, but it is an option.
Hope this helps.

Thank you As44 and hzss12. I will consider your advice, maybe I will call the embassy to postpone the interview date in order to catch the november.

First, I sent them an e-mail, then I couldn't wait for an answer, so I phoned them, we agreed on the phone about the date, and they later confirmed the new date via e-mail.
