You'll receive a courtesy approval letter and your attorney will receive an original approval letter. You can have your passport stamped with your courtesy approval letter.

Make an infopass appointment with the nearest local service center and get your passport stamped. Take your new EAD, AP, I-94, 2 Passport size photographs, Courtesy Approval Notice, your passport along with you to get your passport stamped. Good Luck and Congratulations on your approval.

How to tell difference between courtesy and original letter. Will it be marked as courtesy copy. I recieved one copy and it doesn't say courtesy.

I received two approval letters, the first one was a Form I-797 the second a form I-797C. The two forms are almost identical, the paper was a different color and the notice dates differed by a few days. The Infopass appointment requested the I-797C form, which is the one I handed to them.

Perhaps the 'C' in I-797C is significant?

Thanks benryan10!

Did you get both at same time, or did attorney get one? was there time difference between getting the 2...I got 797 last week, but attorney has not received anything (797c?) yet...

No, they arrived separately, about 5 days apart. They both came directly to me. Don't know what the lawyer received, my last contact with the lawyer was when they replied to the RFE.

I received the courtesy copy of the approval letter. Do i have to wait for the original letter (i heard the originals goes to attorney) Can i use this to schedule an infopass apointment at a local USCIS office and go for stamping..
Let me know "GURUS"

When you pick the type of appoint you want on INFOPASS it states which form it wants. (Although I suspect either would do). I went to the DHS office in Seattle, the officer did not ask me for APs or EADs, just the 2 passport-style photos, the I-94, passport and driving license (not listed as a requirement on the form). I had APs, the EADs with me in case they asked, would recommend that you have them with you too.

Although I had booked appointment through Infopass, and arrived at the office before it was scheduled, they still made me take a number and wait hours and hours. I honestly can't remember how long. They had 7 counters only two of which were ever staffed at the same time. I brought a book to read to while way the time. They were also showing CNN's Headline news channel in the waiting area. The officer who did my stamping was very pleasant, and processed it in about 15 mins, when my number turned up. He also mentioned that they were short staffed.
