About applying for citizenship

If someone is a green card holder and is applying for citizenship but it is married to an illegal that came to this country legally, can the illegal part be deported? They've been married for 4 years and have a child together and he wants to apply for citizenship so she can have a green card. Will they have problems?

Thanks!

Once the citizenship is approved, he can petition for the spouse. The illegal will not be deported, she will adjust her status once the husband has become a citizen. There is no grounds for deportation unless she does something criminal or ICE is looking for her for some reason.
