Ability to Pay.....

Dear fellows, could the INS ask for this "Proof of Employer's ability to pay" twice, once while approving the I-140, and another time when processing the I-485?

They requested this from us before they approved my wife's I-140.

We answer that one time they asked while processing her I-140 and they approved it.
They have not asked again. My question is: could they ask again now that they are processing our I-485?
