ABC of NIW?

Hi, this is my first posting here. I\'m going to apply for a green card, but am not very sure which one I am be eligible.

I\'m a geneticist working on biology of aging. I got my PhD about two years ago at a top-10 university with 4 papers in international journals (2 first-authored) and 1 first-authored chapter for a book. I presented at several conferences, and got an international award (not so high-profile). Right now, I\'m a regular postdoc at a hot-shot laboratory at a top univeristy.

Probably, I won\'t be able to go for EB1 or EB2, if they need a sponsorship from my employee. As some of you may know, postdoc is not tenured position, and my institute has a firm policy against, even if I would hire a lawyer with my own money. Then, am I only left with NIW?

I\'m so new to many concepts here that I can\'t even guess the most of acronyms being used in this forum. Where can I find basic information (requirements) on NIW filing?

Also, is NIW different and separate from EB? Many people mention them together.
 
May be NIW

I don\'t reckon the record as listed would likely get the EB-1 EA,
unfortunately. Perhaps NIW could work, if presented really persuasively in terms of "impact of public health".

Hope my suggestion will help you a little.
EB1a, very hard in your case; EB1b, not qualify, your work experience is not long enough.
Try NIW, the best. It does not need labour certificate. Other than above, you need a labor certificate.
You need strong recommendation letters, "impact of public health", "original contributions";
publications and presentations in peer-reviewed journals and international meetings;
a membership, norminated, not just paid;
awards, internationally and etc.
