I got my NIW 140 (self petition) approved in early march this year and my 485 was filed concurrently back in October 2002. I want to know, how long I have to wait before I can filnally get 485 approval from CSC? Does a 140 approval mean that you will finally get GC if you have a stable job?

While nobody can say in certain how long a particular case takes,
I think a wait of 18 months to 20 months is common now.

While approval of I-140 is necessary for 485 , the fact that
I-140 is approved does not guarantee an approval in 485 stage.

But as you said, if everything holds good, then it should not
be a problem getting through the 485 stage.
