A thought about RD and ND

After reading so many approvals, I find sometimes INS use your RD to sort the case but sometimes they use ND instead.

The case for hst, Frustratio, 485justapproval, etc, they all have RD in Sept. ND in Nov., and get approved in middle of Aug. (So the INS think their cases as Sept. case), but some guys with Aug. RD and even July RD as the following,

desikagc RD 08/06/01, ND 09/26/01, AD 08/23/02
krishnagc RD 08/08/01, ND 09/21/01, AD 08/23/02
apm0730 RD 07/30/01, ND 09/20/01, AD 08/23/02,

just got their case approved ar the similar timeframe as those who has Sept. RD. because they all have ND in Sept. and INS may think their cases as Sept. case.

My point here is for those have RD in July or Aug. but still wait for approval, you may get your case approved dependent on your ND instead of RD. Those whose case were considered by INS with RD are just so lucky.

I agree with you. I too noticed this. You came with clear statistics.

This is very much true.

Worst case scenario is Approval by ND ( in my case Dec 2001)

Best case scenario is Approval by RD ( in my case Nov 2001)

Worst or Best ....Time will answer

That could be true

In my case the best case scenario is Aug 17 (Approval anytime)
Worst case scenario is Oct 18th ( A month and half)
But my point is, what sin did we commit to deserve to be picked up by the NDs rather than the RDs?

In my case the best case scenario is Aug 17 (Approval anytime)

So, I guess if you don't hear anything from INS within two weeks, you may think you fall into the Oct. case---the worst scenario.

But this is INS, we can't argue with them no matter how stupid they are.

Good Luck

These damn IIO's

I will agree the first two time I'd called the INS the now worldfamous IIOs told me that they process case by ND. Whereas my friends todl me that they process it by RD. I actually had an argument with someone over it. The IIO kept telling me they process by ND but my filing date was 6th Sept. Needless to say my RD.
Either these guyz don't know jack shit about what they are doing and are just kept there so people like us don't complain that INS is treating us in an inhuman third grade citizen manner.
Or they don't know the difference between RD and ND and just file/process/classify them as they seem fit.
Or they really get sadistic pleasure from making us go round in circles. And check this portal frequently to see how much we've tied each other in knots already.

ND and RD closer for 2002

I guess last year there was too much of a difference between ND and RD (1-2 mon) and then FPs but this yr the avg diff is at most a week with the FP being scheduled in a month or so.
So hopefully, this confusion should not take place for 2002 applicants. For the 2001 applicants..Hang on..your time has come :)

only way to find out rd - nd confusion

Can someone who got Sept. approval already answer this question:

Let's say on your I-485 receipt you see RD=09/10/01 and ND=11/14/01
What was AVM saying just after I-485 was received in INS

1. "Your application was received on 09/10"
2. "Your application was received on 11/14"

I have a theory about RD and ND confusion within IIOs and why suddenly you see some applications from next month while there are applications from previous months are still pending (Sept applications before aug applications etc.) I think there are two types of IIOs that treat applications differently. Some IIOs consider RDs and some consider ND. May be it is training issue or some IIOs are just dumb. So when an INS supervisor tells IIOs to process cases for a month (say September) then some IIOs pick cases by NDs and some pick it up by RDs. and this may be the reason that you see two cases that are approved on same day or in couple of days span, where one case has ND in septemeber and one has RD in septemeber. (like one has ND 9/23 and one has RD 9/27)
Same theory also provides some explaination why some IIOs says they are processing NDs upto 9/1/01 and some says they are processing 9/1/01 RDs.
Now I can not think of a valid reasoning behind why people with July RDs and NDs in August are still waiting for approvals. I guess thats just the way INS works.

any ideas ?

In my case if my case (RD 9/5 and ND 11/7) goes to IIO with RD treatment Approval will be pretty soon otherwise I will have to wait till they start saying they are processing cases upto 11/15/2001.
