Poongunranar,

You seem to have a pretty good knowledge on this subject. I have a question. My FP is scheduled next week and just last month I got a speeding ticket(doing 59 in a 35 zone). I have already paid the ticket ($103). The court did NOT ask me to appear. This is my first speeding ticket in US in my six years of living here.

Do you think this will jeorpadize my FP and/or AOS in any way? I don't know if speeding tickets are also reported to FBI.

I may be a little paranoid here, but hope you can understand my scare.

After reading you inputs, I know one thing for sure now "NO DRIVING WHEN DRUNK. HUH!!!". BTW, I live in Kansas City, MO.

TIA

You are fine, dude!

Please spread this GOSPEL to everybody: Unless and until you are not arrested, you are fine. This includes all CIVIL CASES and NON-CRIMINAL TRAFFIC OFFENSES you may be involved with.

In your case, you are overly paranoid. I know friends who have practically got Speeding Tickets as Frequent-Flier points and have got their GCs as well. You are not arrested and hence you are not even under the purview of the Criminal Justice System of this country.

Immigration Laws are part of Civil Justice System, even though the clauses for removal/deportation/inadmissibility are warranted only if the alien is involved with any State/Federal Criminal Justice System.

If this is all gobbledygook to you, remember this bottom-line: If you are never arrested, you should be fine.

And the good news to you is: You are fine.

Thanks!

Thanks buddy,

This is a releif.

Thanks for the quick reply. People like you have made this forum such a success story.

Good luck.

Off topic, but I would also advise you to take traffic school, which wipes off the record from your driving license, not only does your insurance not go up, but this stop won't show if anyone pulls up your record.

Regards and good luck!
