hi folks...

I know you guys have 2 whole months for this whole quota system to start. its better we start a game and predict who will get his 485 case approved frist. In the meanwhile, i thought of popping one of my questions.

As anxious as I was to get this green card.. and after getting it (after 10 years).. few weeks ago.. I hardly have looked at it not more than 10 times... yah! so what big deal, I say to myself I am a permanent resident.

1Q: do i have to keep this green card in my wallet all the time(never been asked for it in 10 years except for a driving licence), or just put it away till I go out of the country.

2Q: We still havent received my 2 year daughter's card... so should we go for passport stamping.. because there you have to be fingerprinted and a 2 year child cant be fingerprinted.

As per INA 264 (Immigration and Nationality Act) it required to carry GC always. However, most of the GC holders don't carry it always for the fear of loosing it and the hassle for getting replacement card. Many carry photcopies of GC with "PHOTOCOPY" mark on it (just to make it clear that you are not using a fake one). Many don't carry at all.

Did you receive your daughter's approval notice? Did it ask for passport stamping? If not, they dont need to go. However, if you don't receive card for long time and need to travel abroad, you can go to local district office and get their passport stamped.
