Sorry to be off topic.

I am planing to take my laptop/notebook to India.
How should I charge it .. voltage is different out there.

I remove this thread as soon I get an answer.

Thanks

Check your notebook adapter to see if it takes 220V. Most laptops do. The adapter would specify something as "Input 100-240V"
- If you see that, then all you need is to get a "round to flat pin converter in India" or buy interchangeable pin converters here in US (check Radioshack, maybe Walmart or local electronics\electrical stores).
- If not, then you would need to buy a converter too, that steps down the voltage from 220 to 110 (US voltage).

Agree with what avi101 said ..... Most if not all laptops come with a universal power adapter - you just need the buy the converter for the pins (which is less than $5 at Frys)

Laptop

All you need is a plug convertor so that the two prong plug of the laptop and fit into the 3 prong plugs in India. You don't need a voltage convertor of any sort...all laptops come with it built in.

I was recently in India with my Compaq laptop and I bought the plus convertor from a local electric store for about Rs 20 vs $8 or so in US.

Hope this helps !
