My husband and i got married 3 weeks ago, and now we're starting the process of changing my status from and F1 student to a permanent resident.
My only problem i've seen is with what documents we have to show such as joint tax returns, bank account, credit, car insurance, deed, bills, statements etc. I'm worried as we both don't have many of these things, we don't pay rent at all, as we are living with his parents right now. I've only just been put on to my husbands insurance policy, and we don't really have any bills that we pay jointly. Also my husband got a new car before we got married and on the contract him and his fathers name are on that.
What we do have however is a joint bank account and as i said, medical insurance etc.
So i'm unsure at what to do with all these joint documents we're meant to have and to take with us when we get called in for the appointment and don't have them to show as proof.
Does anyone have any suggestions about this? Thanks in advance
