A question about asylum process and gay marriage at the same time

Hello everybody

Thanks to all the people who can help me in advance

Right now I'm about running asylum process that based on my sexual orientation (a membership in social group).
But at the same time I was married to GC holder here, in U.S.
Is it possible to somehow combine the two things at the same time? My wife (I'm a girl) also afraid for my life in Russia!

At USCIS page I did not find any information, and lawyer also said - either asylum or three years of waiting until her citizenship!

Maybe someone had a similar problem?
What do I need to read?

Thank you very much, I got in touch with them!

And yes, maybe you know if I have a chance to get asylum if before I coming to the United States I was for a couple days in another country, but in the US I drove it for tourism purposes, and only over time, I was scared to return home.
