A Positive Update from my lawyer

I spoke to my lawyer today. Here is his take on the I-485 processing at NSC.

1). They are actively working on cases for JAN,FEB,MAR,APR 02 cases. He does not know how APR_02 cases are processed before completing JAN-02.

2). More resources are put for the I-485 processing. More IIO will be added to this group as H1B processing is about to reach the quota.

3). There are still good number cases pending for 2001. This are mostly due to late RFE replies and complex cases which require attention of senior or management level intervention.

4). Nothing has actually changed from the days of INS to UCIS except they are getting more training and more guidelines and this slows down the process.

5). Pressure from interest groups and lawyers has not made any serious impacts on the I-485 processing. UCIS is aware of the delay. Only Real pressure from the Congress could speed up the process as it requires more resources hence more money. This is congressionaly mandated.
