Hey, First I would like to thank this website for the information it provides, and also for making me extremely paranoid about this entire ordeal

My interview is this coming thursday 9/7/06

I have obtained all the documentation reccomended including proof of payment for all traffic tickets that I have gotten through out the years. My three major concerns are.

1) I have gotten a total of seven traffic tickets
speeding (35 mph in a 25 ) (45 mph in a 35)
unsafe driving
improper lane change
nothing really major, just tickets obtained through inexperience and I guess being a young driver (i.e irresponsibility) I have now at my 24 years of age learned to calm down. I am worried on how this tickets will affect my application. Like stated above i have obtained proof of payment for all of the tickets. but I am just nervous that they might deny my application do to my irresponsible driving. BTW i did not list the tickets in my application because to me it wasn't a big deal until i started reading more in depth in this site.

2) I have orderd my transcripts from the IRS, but i am worried that they will not get here on time. They never processed my first request through the automated system. I do however have a copy of all my tax returns except 2001 they are just not certified from the irs. Will this be sufficient?

3) When i first entered school, I lied about my status(not knowing the consequences) in order to enroll I stated that i was a u.s. citizen in order for them not to ask any documentation since i was still illegally here) I am worried this might come back and bite me in the butt. I honestly do not plan to divulge this information, but I am worried that the officer might notice something out of the ordinary and question me about it.

any suggestion or feedback is appreciated. Thanks
:(

See a lawyer

I'm not a lawyer, but it sounds like you should probably see one about at least your third concern. The conversation between you and your lawyer would be confidential, and it's up to you whether or not to follow her advice.

The conventional wisdom is that lying about being a US citizen is a permanent bar to citizenship. But a brief Google search reveals that there may be subtleties. e.g. If you lied to a non-governmental body, that may not count.

A good lawyer can probably give you good advice about this, certainly much better than a layman like me can.

I think you are fine as far as the tickets go if you have paid them off and they are not too recent.
However with your USC claim, I don't think that should be an issue since your school application/enrollment will not come up in an FBI check other than you attend school wherever.
Was that claim made to the school after the GC, that would be implausible, therefore since you got a GC even after that claim was made to the school, you should be fine. Consult a lawyer if you need to feel comfortable and make sure you have a plausible story when it comes up.

Concern # 3: it will probably slide, if you tell them they will deport you. As far as coming back and kick you in the ass - you never know - it might or it might not...

I would consult a lawyer and try not to lie...

my $0.2

oh yeah - if you do end up covering this - do not apply for any government jobs where they do in depth checks on you

thanks for any responses,

heres some additional information.

1)as far as the tickets i got four of them within a year of each other back in 2001-2002 and have gotten three of them between 2002-2006 i believe one of them was for speeding. the rest where minor offences, no points where put on my record.

3) I was illegal when i claimed to be a U.S. citizen therefore no GC. I spoke to my lawyer he said they really shouldn't bring it up because they have no way of knowing that information for this particular application. He said not to mention it, and obvioulsy not to bring it up.
