A house in home country

I've read through some threads here and people recommend that even if we get the GC and move to US, no need to sell the house in home country and just rent it out, then we can always return home if things are not working in the US.

I've an apartment in my home country. I would just like to know if I have any property outside US and get rental income through this, do I need to pay any tax to the US government?

In most cases, if you are a US resident for the tax purposes, then yes, you have to pay taxes. However, the tax law is complicated enough, you may be eligible for some waivers because of a tax treaty or other factors. The best answer for your question can be given by a tax consultant. Also you may want to try TurboTax or any other similar software.
