A# for I-485 application, help??

I am going to file my I-485. There are lot places asking A#. I right now have H1 visa. I just have SS#. Someone say A# is the same as SS#, rigtht??
If not, Please tell me where i can have A#? Thanks a lot.

You have an A# only if you are already a Permanent Resident. So in your case just write the word NONE where ever the A# column appears.

Also, check with your attorney.

it is not true that only people with Permanent Resident have A#. For people who ever got an EAD, they have A#.
