A few question after the AOS interview

Hello everyone,

I had the interview (AOS) on 6/19/13.
The interview went ok, I guess. There was a missing file and the Officer wanted us to send him the missing file.
The missing file was a proof of divorce from my wife's previous marriage. The office told us he knows it's clear but he needs the file for his reference. He printed out a letterhead form that states what we need to send it to him with our case #. We asked when we should know his decision and he told us shortly after he received the missing file. It's been 3 weeks after the interview and we sent out the missing files as soon as we got home. So it's been almost 3 weeks we sent him the missing file.

I mailed the missing file and I am not sure if he received the file ok or not. Don't they notify if they received the file?
The letterhead he gave us has a different signature. The officer was a man but the signature was a woman's and it looked like his supervisor. I didn't remember the officer's name. So I sent the file to the person from the letterhead.

I know 3 weeks isn't so much but I just want to know if USCIS notifies if they received this file or not. The letterhead said I have to submit the missing file within 89 days.

I-485 and I 130 get approval at the same time? The status of both still the same (I130: Initial Review, I-485: Testing/Interview) even after the interview.

I know I will have to wait but it's frustrating and it would be helpful any of you can share your thought.
Thanks in advance!

You didn't send it with a service that has tracking, like Fedex or Postal Service Priority Mail? If not, you won't know if they received it until they take some action on it like approving the case. When you send them a missing document after the interview, you can expect to wait 1 to 3 months for them to process it.

They usually won't send you any kind of notification to say that they've received it, but if they didn't receive it they'll eventually send you a letter requesting it again (but that could be several months from now).

I-485 and I 130 get approval at the same time?
If they were filed at the same time, it's common for them to get approved at the same time (if they're both approved). Or the I-130 may be approved before the I-485. But the I-485 cannot be approved before the I-130 approval.

In your case, the proof of your wife's divorce is critical to the I-130, so neither will be approved until USCIS receives and processes what you sent. If the missing document were relevant only to the I-485, they might have approved the I-130 while keeping the I-485 on hold.

Thanks for the reply. So I shouldn't even bother to do info pass for 60 days?
