I have been a silent visitor for last couple of months and thanks for all the inputs. Today we had our interview for both my self and my wife in fairfax VA office.

My interview was done after my wife's interview.

My Interview

The IO was nice and able to complete the interview in 15 mins and I was approved for the oath and completed oath cermony in the afternoon.

I remember only 5 questions of the civic test and here they are.

1) Who wrote the declaration of independence?
2) Name one state which borders Mexico?
3) What are the two major political parties in US?
4) Who is the commander in chief for the Army?
5) Name 3 of the original 13 colonies?

My Wife's interview

My wife interview took place first and she passed the civic and history test and also reading and writing. The IO completely went thru application and there were couple of minor typos which needs to be corrected one on the employment date and other one on the height. She noted them down. After that she mentioned you passed all the tests but they cannot make a decision as they are waiting on a
2nd A-file. She told my wife that it is just a paperwork and she should be fine. She also mentioned that it will take anywhere between 30 days to 120 days but usually done withing 30 days.

Has anybody recently faced similar issue? I saw a post back in 2007 and it took almost 6 months to get this corrected.

2010 speeds are nothing like 2007 speeds. Things are happening much faster.

And yes, there have been issues of missing A-files - it is not routine, but it happens. With the interview now in the past, all you can do is to keep checking every month. Hopefully it will resolve in 30 days as the IO said.

With my situation, I interviewed and the IO told me that I had a green folder wh/ means that part of my file or my past immigration docs have been computerized and they'll need to get on the comp. to get that file. So I'll have to give them time to do that. I was also a day shy of my 5yrs. However, the IO recommended my file for approval and gave me a letter showing that I was recommended NOT the " a decision can not be made ....thing"

I'll however wait for me oath letter b/c of the above.

Goodluck to us for a speedy process

Thank Sanjoseaud20 and Docta. I think my wife's case is similar to Docta where IO found another (2nd) A-file with my wife's name which they need to make sure that there is not another person existing with that file and may need to do some clean up or do some additional paper work.

Same happened to me. Small changes trigger B) Check on N-652

Yes me too, I shot myself in the foot by making smal changes the hight was one of them as well as the photos and correct the divorce date.

My interview was on 02/25/2010 and i am still waiting for the final decision hopefuly OD. My IO told me that was going to take two weeks but guess what it has been more than a month since i passed the tests. He also pointed out the A-FILE missing thing i guess is the code they use.
Good luck to your wife
