Need volunteers from all states/city
The volunteers at www.immigrationvoice.org are trying their best to find solutions to a problem thats affecting each and every one of us. They are exploring the hiring of a lobbyist for this purpose
Hopefully everyone realizes that just hiring the lobbyist is not the end of the job. We still need to contact the lawmakers and ensure that they realize the difference between legal and illegal immigrants as logic_life has rightly pointed out. This is the only chance we have to get solutions for our problems given that Senate is going to look at it very soon. Once any bill is passed by the house and senate, getting another immigration bill in the near future will be almost impossible. Hence, this is literally do or die for us.
Do not wait till the last moment to build the groundwork of educating our representatives and senators. There are quite a few members on this forum and only a few have volunteered for meeting the lawmakers. Please take the initiative to do so. We are all here on this forum because all of us are suffering. Can we not just do a little bit more to alleviate our own situation other than just being mute spectators?
During S.1932, a lot of us called the senators and congressmen to voice our opinion, but that was more of a last minute thing. This time we have some time (atleast a couple of weeks) to contact our senators/congressmen and swing them or atleast educate them about our situation. All it takes is a couple of hours (if they can meet us), but it can potentially make your life
I am planning to email the congressmen/senators in the Philadelphia region and hopefully meet them. Anyone else interested in joining forces with me is more than welcome.
